The Firefighter Combat Challenge, as seen on ESPN for more than 10 years, is designed to encourage firefighter fitness and demonstrate the extremities of the job to the public. Competing teams are required to wear full gear and a breathing apparatus as they race head-to-head, performing a series of five tasks including climbing a five-story tower, hoisting, chopping, dragging hoses and rescuing a life-sized, 175 lb. victim.

Described as the “Toughest 2 minutes in Sport” the SCOTT Firefighter Combat Challenge® - Branson ran by On Target Challenge will be hosted May 5-6, 2017 in the South Parking Lot at the Branson Landing.  This Challenge, as seen on ESPN for over a dozen years, seeks to encourage firefighter fitness and demonstrate the profession's rigors to the public.  Wearing "full bunker gear" and the Scott 5.5 Air-Pak breathing apparatus, pairs of competitors race head-to-head as they simulate the physical demands of real-life firefighting by performing a linked series of five tasks including climbing a  5-story tower, hoisting, chopping, dragging hoses and rescuing a life-sized, 175 lb. "victim" as they race against themselves, their opponent and the clock.
